Dundonald Castle

Dundonald Castle.

Dundonald Castle, a few miles inland from the west coast of Scotland, to the north-east of Troon.
Built by Robert Stewart, probably around the time of his accession to the throne as Robert II in 1371.


Actively used as a Royal residence till the early 1500s, by the early 1600s was in a state of ruin.
